Vision Correction Procedures

Procedures

We proudly partner with local industry leading surgeons for all of our vision correction procedures. Rest assured, all pre and post-operative care will still be handled by your trusted optometrist here at Invision Optometry.

While laser vision correction (LASIK and PRK) have become the preferred alternative to glasses and contact lenses, there are several other procedures now available such as implantable contact lenses (ICL), intraocular lenses (IOL) and corneal inlays that will help improve your vision.

Custom LASIK

Custom LASIK (also known as wavefront-guided LASIK) utilizes wavefront guided technology to precisely measure how light focuses on the back of the eye. A femtosecond laser is used to create a corneal “flap” which allows for a very rapid recovery in vision

PRK

Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK) was the first laser vision correction procedure to receive FDA approval in 1995 and works by removing tissue from the surface of the eye to change the curvature of the cornea.

Implantable Contact Lens

Implantable Lenses

The Visian ICL is a refractive lens also known as a phakic IOL (intraocular lens). “Phakic” meaning that the natural lens of the eye is not removed during the procedure. Instead, the natural lens is left in place. The ICL is an implant that is situated behind the iris and in front of the natural crystalline lens.

Cataract Surgery

Cataract surgery is a procedure used to restore cataract-related vision loss. During surgery, the clouded lens inside your eye will be replaced with a clear intraocular lens (IOL). These lens implants can partially restore a person’s near vision, in addition to correcting nearsightedness and farsightedness.

Corneal Inlay diagaram

Corneal Inlays

Corneal Inlays are very small lenses or optical devices that are inserted into a flap created in the cornea to improve near vision. The primary purpose is to reduce the need for reading glasses in older adults over the age of 40.
