Eyewear FAQ’s
How do I adapt to my new glasses?
New glasses can take some getting used to, so it’s best to gradually increase your wear time until you fully adapt. Plan on it taking a few days to adjust to single-vision lenses and 2-3 weeks for progressive or bifocal lenses. Try not to switch between different prescriptions, as it will increase your adaptation time. If you’re having ongoing trouble with your eyewear, give us a call. We’ll help determine the issue and make sure that your prescription is just right!
What if my frames don’t fit perfectly?
A proper fit is essential not only for comfort but also for effective vision correction. New glasses often need minor tweaks to fit your face correctly. We offer complimentary adjustments throughout the life of your glasses, so feel free to stop by at your convenience to find your perfect fit.
How do I care for my glasses/sunglasses?
Raise your hand if you’re guilty of cleaning your eyewear with a shirt or towel? Yep, we’ve been there too. However, while it seems harmless, you’re actually damaging your lenses. Here are a few pointers to help you keep your eyewear in tip top shape:
- Clean your lenses with a lens cloth and glasses spray. Using your shirt or a paper towel can scratch the lenses.
- Avoid using household cleaning products on your lenses. These chemicals can destroy your lens coating.
- Make sure that your glasses are not on the counter while you’re getting ready. Hairspray and beauty products can damage the protective coating on your lenses.
- Keep your glasses out of the car on hot/cold days. The temperature can damage your lens coating and change the shape of your frame.
Do you have a warranty?
