Vision Correction

Want to see without the need of glasses or contact lenses? While laser vision correction (LASIK and PRK) have become the preferred alternative to glasses and contact lenses for millions of people throughout the world, there are several other procedures now available such as implantable contact lenses (ICL), intra-ocular lenses (IOL) and corneal inlays that may free you from your glasses and contacts. We proudly partner with NVISION Eye Centers for all of our vision correction procedures. Their industry leading surgeons are excellent at finding the best solution for your specific needs. Rest assured, all pre and post-operative care will still be handled by your trusted optometrist here at Invision Optometry.

Custom LASIK

Custom LASIK (also known as wavefront-guided LASIK) utilizes wavefront guided technology to precisely measure how light focuses on the back of the eye. A femtosecond laser is used to create a corneal “flap” which allows for a very rapid recovery in vision

Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK)

PRK

Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK) was the first laser vision correction procedure to receive FDA approval in 1995 and works by removing tissue from the surface of the eye to change the curvature of the cornea.

Implantable Lenses

The Visian ICL is a refractive lens also known as a phakic IOL (intraocular lens). “Phakic” meaning that the natural lens of the eye is not removed during the procedure. Instead, the natural lens is left in place. The ICL is an implant that is situated behind the iris and in front of the natural crystalline lens.

Intraocular Lens

Intraocular lenses (IOLs) are medical devices that are implanted inside the eye to replace the eye’s natural lens when it is removed during cataract surgery. IOLs also are used for a type of vision correction surgery called refractive lens exchange.

Cataract Surgery

Cataract surgery may also be considered a vision correction procedure. New lens implants developed for cataract surgery can partially restore a person’s near vision, in addition to correcting nearsightedness and farsightedness.

Corneal Inlays

Corneal Inlays

Corneal Inlays are very small lenses or optical devices that are inserted into a flap created in the cornea to improve near vision. The primary purpose is to reduce the need for reading glasses in older adults over the age of 40.
