Glaucoma Management

Glaucoma refers to a group of eye diseases that cause damage to the optic nerve, which carries visual information from the back of the eye to the brain. Early glaucoma usually has no symptoms, therefore, routine eye exams are critical in the prevention of the disease.

Glaucoma is often associated with higher-than-normal pressure inside the eye, but may also occur when intraocular pressure (IOP) is normal. If left untreated, glaucoma initially causes loss of peripheral vision and can eventually lead to blindness.
