Andrea Meagher, OD

Dr. Andrea Meagher is a compassionate optometrist providing comprehensive eye care with a special focus on pediatric vision, myopia management, and specialty contact lenses. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where she majored in Biology and minored in Dance, before completing her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago.
Dr. Meagher completed advanced clinical training at the Illinois Eye Institute and Silicon Valley Eye Physicians, where she specialized in scleral contact lenses for keratoconus, orthokeratology (Ortho-K) lenses, and myopia management for children and teens. She also received extensive ocular disease training at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, strengthening her expertise in diagnosing and managing complex eye conditions.
Through her clinical experience in vision therapy, Dr. Meagher developed a strong passion for pediatric eye care in San Diego. She is known for building long-term, trusting relationships with patients and providing a level of care that makes you feel like family. Patients appreciate her ability to clearly explain eye conditions and treatment options in a way that is approachable, empowering them to make confident decisions about their eye health.
Outside the office, Dr. Meagher enjoys cooking new recipes, fishing out on the ocean, and snow skiing. She is originally from Sacramento area, but is proud to serve the San Diego community and looks forward to caring for her patients for years to come.
