Photorefractive Keratectomy

Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK) was the first laser vision correction procedure to receive FDA approval in 1995 and works by removing tissue from the surface of the eye to change the curvature of the cornea. While PRK is commonly used as a treatment of choice in some cases, Custom LASIK has become the most popular laser vision correction procedure performed today.
